January Reflection

It feels strange, in the bright, cold light of the new year, to be peering back into the dark bustle of November and December – long nights and cloudy days, lit by shop signs and Christmas lights and the pale glow of the open laptop. I wonder where the time went. I wonder, did I use it well, was I doing the right things, looking in the right places? It feels strange, as a songwriter, to admit that four months into the project I haven’t yet written any lyrics.
